High school sweet hearts, Sarah and Jered enjoyed a beautiful late-summer wedding… last year. 🙂 I’m the first to admit that I’ve been crazy busy and have been a little slack on keeping my site updated. After going through my archives for last season over the weekend, I’ve decided it’s time for a little spring-cleaning and post a few favorite sessions.
I first met with Sarah and her mom at Tim Horton’s for a cup of tea. I think we both realized after a few minutes of chatting that we’d be working together. haha  I always welcome the addition of family and friends for wedding consultations. It’s great to chat and learn about the couple from more than one perspective. What they like, how they met and what they expect in their wedding photos. Sarah and her mom did just that. We talked about their ideas, the venue, and the rest of the family and friends that would be attending.
Sarah and Jered celebrated both their ceremony and reception at the beautiful Lord Nelson Hotel in downtown Halifax. It was easy to tell that Sarah had put a lot of thought into the small details. I say “Sarah” (only) because that’s usually how it works. I’m sure Jered has his input too of course.  Not only did the day go off without a hitch, it was so nice to see a couple who were completely easy-going, despite being the center of attention.
Their wedding was a little extra special for me also. Not only were they super pleased with their photos and shared a lovely letter of thanks and comments from friends and family — but I later learned that I’m a distant cousin of Sarah’s. Maybe that explains why I felt so comfy with them and their families!
