There are 2 reasons I title this blog post “When Friends get Married”. First, because it’s always extra special to photograph a wedding for friends. Ruth and I met and became pals in grade 7. Way back in the day. haha I was “super” excited when Ruth and Adam announced their engagement, then extremely flattered when they asked me to photograph their day. Often times friends say “well I want you to enjoy the day and be able to relax”. Fooey I say to that! Â Capturing images for friends is an extra special honor I think for any photographer. You get to take part and see all of the fun behind-the-scene moments with families and friends you grew up with. That was the case here with the lovely Gabriel’s and Shore families. Not only did they celebrate in style, but made everyone including myself feel welcome and we had a blast.
The second reason for the title “When Friends get Married” is of course for the lovely bride and groom: Ruth and Adam. It’s really awesome to see a couple so in-tune with each other. Not just lovey-dovey, but also very evidently that they are best friends.
And just as a little side story:
The “girls” and I were eager to meet Adam when Ruth started speaking his name more frequently years ago. Some time had passed before I actually got to meet him though, which ironically was on my wedding day. After seeing some very fierce dance moves that evening he quickly confirmed that he was for our Ruthie. Two very kind and genuine hearts have truly come together, and I wish you both all the love and happiness you both deserve. xo
